We are looking for a senior Family Finance Solicitor/Associate to expand our growing team in the London Region, working with Fiona Snowdon.  You will manage a caseload of primarily finance cases with some children matters.  As well as fee-earning, there will be a strong focus on developing/marketing local business and our website business. You will develop referrals from other established Partners who already refer to Simpson Millar;

As part of this role, you will provide supervision to other solicitors and paralegals, therefore it is vital that you have detailed knowledge of family work, including procedural and practical skills.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will have:-

  • A minimum of 5-6 years’ post qualification experience as a family law specialist and running a family caseload mainly focused on finance work as a solicitor but with a breadth of experience in other areas of family law work.  Experience with Medium to High Net Worth clients would be an advantage, as would a following, but are not essential;
  • A good understanding of the FPR and CPR to the extent that they are relevant to family cases;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of procedures and protocol;
  • The ability to provide the highest standards of client care and service;
  • Proficient in billing procedures, providing costs estimates and managing privately funded cases
  • Ability to work to and exceed financial targets set;
  • Knowledge of private funding and commercial awareness;
  • Interest in and ability to develop links with potential referral organisations and be a self-starter;
  • Excellent business development and marketing skills
  • Interest in supervising and developing junior colleagues;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team;
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of document management systems to work efficiently;
  • Strong practical skills, including proven negotiation skills;
  • Good personal organisation and ability to adhere to strict time limits;
  • The ability to deal with individuals from all walks of life;
  • The ability to prioritise work when necessary and excellent housekeeping skills;
  • Member of Resolution and interest in accreditation.
