Defendant EL/PL Solicitor/Legal Executive - Lucrative Bonus

A market leading international full-service law firm is keen to appoint an additional Solicitor or Legal Executive to its specialist Birmingham city centre based EL/PL Team to have conduct of a very varied EL/PL caseload which will comprise high calibre matters.

This award-winning firm is very highly thought of and is renowned as a market leader within the insurance sector. It has offices throughout the UK as well as a host of other jurisdictions and provides specialist advice covering the full remit of legal sectors with the majority of its practice area revolving around acting on behalf of household name insurer clients, self-insureds and a plethora of corporate entities.

Because of a combination of new client wins along with an increase of new instructions from existing insurer clients, the EL/PL Team now has a specific requirement for an experienced EL/PL Solicitor or Legal Executive to join the team and deal with a challenging caseload of defendant EL/PL personal injury matters.

The firm is ideally looking to speak with either a solicitor or a legal executive; however, it is open to applications from experienced fee earners who are able to demonstrate a strong track record of dealing with EL/PL cases. Whilst you will act on behalf of a defendant client base, the practice is open to speaking with those from a claimant background but what is important is that you have a minimum of 18 months' experience of dealing with litigated EL/PL personal injury cases.

The main thrust of the role is to deal with a litigated EL/PL caseload, so you will need to be proficient in dealing with liability, quantum and causation and also have a good grasp or pursuing matters to Trial. You will be well versed in dealing with expert evidence, conducting legal research and will relish the opportunity to deal with technically challenging and complex subject matter. You will be an ambitious team player who is self-motivated and has an eye for detail and will need to have experience of working to SLA's and it is crucial that you are commercially astute.
