As the successful Regulatory & Corporate Defence Solicitor, you will be joining a successful Leeds based RCD team with a regional and national presence. The team acts for all types of businesses from small owner managed concerns to blue chip nationals, in all sectors of industry and commerce, as well as for high net work individuals. The team also has a thriving road traffic defence practice. This is a truly rare and exciting opportunity has become available with one of the region's leading Legal 500 firms. 
 
As a Regulatory & Corporate Defence Solicitor, you will be expected to advise and represent businesses, their senior people, and indivduals on the whole range of regulatory and corporate defence matters. In particular you will be defending corporates and individuals facing investigation or prosecution for alleged criminal regulatory offences. You should have experience of defending suspects at PACE interviews, and of preparing defence cases on guilty and non-guilty pleas at all levels.
 
Applications are welcomed from lawyers with a highly commercial approach who can protect clients from the negative consequences of an investigation or prosecution. You will ideally have experience of defending against some or all of the wide range of regulatory bodies including HSE, EA, HMRC, CQC, SFO, the police and Local Authorities. Experience of or an interest in defending road traffic prosecutions will be an advantage.     
 
You will be a confident advocate, but equally be able to work effectively as part of a team including Counsel and experts. Ideally, you will have PQE in criminal regulatory defence work although we will consider individuals from a Legal Aid background. The RCD department is relaxed and informal, but extremely professional.
