This firm has a rich heritage dating back over 200 years. They are based in the heart of London's legal district in a very picturesque location. They are ranked highly in the Legal 500 and are top tier across several areas including the private client. The firm is award-winning, and many of their Lawyers are ranked as leaders in their field. They have a client base of ultra HNW individuals including many well-known individuals including; Royalty, Members of Government, Celebrities, and senior public figures. The practice has become known as a go-to firm for several areas of law. They now have close to 100 members of staff and have recently bolstered the practice with several heavyweight Senior Partner hires.

The role

They are seeking a new Contentious Trusts and Probate Solicitor to join their flourishing West End office.

You will work as part of one of the most prestigious Private Client teams nationally. It is a seven Partner department and is split into two sectors.

You will find such variety to the caseload, making for much more of an interesting role. You will work closely between the Private Client and Litigation departments running a Contentious Trusts and Probates caseload.

There is no such thing as a typical client, the core profile of the firms clients are wealthy families, often with a number of family trusts and grant making charitable trusts. Their assets are likely to include shares in family owned businesses, quoted investments, bespoke open ended investment companies, hedge funds, landed estates and property.

They also act for business executives, entrepreneurs who have generated their own wealth, and families whose assets have accumulated over the generations.

Although most of their clients have a UK nexus, there is a substantial offshore, foreign and international aspect to our practice and you would be expected to be familiar with dealing with the challenges this brings.

This role comes with good prospects for career progression

Requirements:

• You will be a Contentious Probate Solicitor with between at least 3 years PQE (there is no upper limit regarding the amount of PQE as the firm are seeking to hire at both medium and senior levels)
• You will have good experience of running a high-quality Contentious Probate caseload
• Contentious probate should make up at least 50% of your caseload
• You could have come from either a litigation or private client background
• You should be a commercially minded candidate
• A positive outlook is essential
