Property (85%) and Planning (15%) Lawyer

Our client, a commendable and welcoming Local Authority based in Essex, are currently recruiting for a Property Lawyer with planning experience and knowledge.

The property work covers the whole range of Local Authority property work from straight forward property acquisitions and disposals, through leases, licences, sales of right to buy properties (and potentially some re-purchasing), sales of DIYSO or shared equity properties, easements and transfers of gifted properties from developers.

The planning work covers S.106 agreements, their drafting, templates and varying conditions; unilateral undertakings – queries and reviews; advising on planning matters generally, and advice and assistance around template documents generally e.g. some templates need reviewing, or possibly, completely re-drafting.

Planning committees also taking place once every 3 weeks on a Tuesday, however it is not essential for the successful candidate to cover these although beneficial with any help that can be offered.

The post will be on going, with flexibility as to working arrangements, including both part and full time opportunities and working from home offered.

It is essential that applicants are either a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
