Your new company
The Government Legal Department is the single largest provider of legal services to the government. Its expert legal teams provide advisory services to nearly all of the main Whitehall departments. With more than 1800 qualified lawyers, working within 15 client-facing advisory divisions embedded with their client departments, it is one of the largest legal businesses in the country. There is currently a need for experienced Senior Employment Lawyers to join the Employment Group at the GLD.

Your new role
GLD's Employment Group provides employment litigation and advisory services to central Government. As a Senior Advisory Lawyer you role will include matters relating to the employment of civil servants and including the armed services, prison officers, court staff, immigration officers etc. The majority of the litigation work is in relation to Employment Tribunals. Finally you will be tasked with advising, developing and drafting legislation on unprecedented scale and complexity, and supporting ordinary business of government.

This role is available on a fixed-term appointment, up to 2 years. Alternatively, a shorter assignment as well as part-time and flexible working is available.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years PQE, with particular expertise in Employment and Employment Litigation Law. Other experience levels will also be considered if demonstrating significant expertise in this sector. You should be passionate about contributing to public service, particularly during this time of great change and opportunity.
