Job Details
A Top 60 law firm with offices in Central London are currently looking to recruit a AML manager into their office in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day management of the team.
This role encompasses Anti-Money Laundering and Risk Management and will see the successful candidate have a valued role within this full service, National law firm. In this role you can expect to deal with the following:
Anti-Money Laundering
* Manage the AML work and training of the AML team members across the firm
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's anti-money laundering systems, policies and procedures
* Provide guidance to the other members of the AML team, the Dept. Risk Partners and other members of the firm on the firm's AML procedures with particular reference to more complex or high risk clients and matters
* Keep up to date with all changes to the AML regulations and relevant professional/regulatory requirements and make recommendations for any appropriate changes to the Head of Risk and Professional Standards
* Monitor compliance with the firm's AML procedures across the firm
* Monitor and report on high risk clients and matters.
General Risk management
* Manage the administration of the firm's file review procedures
* Monitor the operation of the firm's conflict checking procedures
* Monitor outstanding tasks in the firm's eWork process and action where appropriate
* Carry out compliance related projects as and when required.
The person who secures this role will be a strong yet diplomatic character capable of using discretion and judgement. It is likely you will also have experience managing others and be in an AML manager role already or have worked in this area for at least three years and looking to make a step up. A background in the legal professional is not a requirement but would be an advantage.
