Nottingham Law School is one of the leading providers of academic and professional legal education in the country with an established record of delivering innovative and transformational courses. We are one of the largest law schools in the UK, offering a range of undergraduate degrees, academic and practitioner taught postgraduate courses and a strong research degrees programme. The School has over 100 academic staff and in excess of 2,500 students of whom over 500 are students studying on postgraduate or practitioner courses.

The school has built a reputation for research in areas including insolvency law, business law, criminal justice, human rights, dispute resolution, sports law, medical law, and legal education.  We have long established links with policy makers, professional bodies and leading law firms, including a growing number of significant international associations.  We have an extensive record of delivery of excellent bespoke training programmes for practitioners and professional bodies and have strengths in commissioned research, both in the UK and overseas. Our research activities are recognised as world leading or internationally excellent with some activity supported by external funding from a range of sources.

We are looking to appoint a number of lecturers to teach on both the undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses. We welcome applications from academics and practitioners in all legal subjects and in particular, those areas identified below.  A first and higher degree in Law is essential and applicants should be either a Solicitor or Barrister with practice experience in England and Wales or hold a PhD or be working towards completion. 

Undergraduate

  • Foundation of legal knowledge: particularly land law, trusts and contract law
  • Corporate and Commercial law: particularly business law, banking and insolvency law, intellectual property law and insurance law
  • Criminology/Criminal Justice
  • Immigration/asylum law
  • Lawtech

Postgraduate (Academic)

  • Corporate and Commercial law: specifically, international commercial transactions, international financial transactions, international carriage of goods and international banking regulation
  • International Dispute Resolution
  • Oil, Gas and Mining
  • Anti-terror law/Human Rights
  • Lawtech

 

 

Postgraduate (Practitioner)

  • Corporate and Commercial law: specifically, business law and practice, employment law, corporate finance and intellectual property law
  • Property law
  • Litigation
  • Wills and Admin
