This is an Employment Partner position with a highly regarded practice who have recently secured some large contracts and strong talents. If you want to join an established firm with a progressive mindset - willing to open up equity - then this could be for you.
The Firm
This law firm has been established over 30 years and has two offices, one based in Fulham and another based in Knightsbridge. They have a team of 30 members of staff and are well-known for the high level of service and good quality of work that they deal with. They have relationships with some of London's most high-end estate agents. You will find that you will have a hands-on role where you will receive training to deal, you're your own caseload, giving you experience ahead of your years. They punch well above their weight regarding work, demonstrated by their ability to secure huge work contracts against much larger firms. They have a friendly, dynamic and progressive culture. There is a family feel running throughout the firm and now is an exciting time as they continue to grow.
On the back of repeated success, they have opened equity in the firm and have recently attracted heavy hitting talent. It really is an exciting time to be joining, with new work contracts secured, heavy hitting solicitors bringing work across, and the opportunity to move up to Partnership.
The Role
The firm are looking for an Employment Partner to join the practice. They have recently secured new business in the Corporate arm of the business and will consequently have a good deal of work to support the incoming Solicitor. However, there would be the expectation that the incoming Partner would have some of their own contacts or would have a business development strategy in mind.
You will handle all forms of employment law issues for commercial and private clients and build and develop your own caseload with a commercial emphasis. You will be expected to be able to handle matters including but not limited to; Employment Tribunals, TUPE, Covenant Disputes, data protection, amongst other elements. These specialisms would make for a very interesting and varied caseload.
The successful candidate will be expected to meet fee earning and other KPI targets, to ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the current business plan, to handle all forms of employment law issues for commercial / private clients, and to develop their own case load with commercial emphasis. Further, they will be expected to maintain and improve client care and to participate in the marketing of the firm by actively participating in networking activities.
Requirements

  • You will be either a Senior Associate looking to move up to Partnership, or a current Partner handling Employment matters.
  • You will ideally have experience of leading a team, although this is not essential
  • A good billings history is essential, experience of introducing new business is desired
  • You should be ambitious and wanting to progress
  • Part time working could be considered at the start.
  • You will be an organised individual who is keen to develop in your career
  • You will have good communication skills
