Salary up to £44,964 per annum (salary dependent on experience)

Leicestershire County Council’s in-house Legal Services has an exciting opportunity for a litigation lawyer to join its friendly and busy litigation team based at County Hall, Glenfield.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working in local government or in private practice and will have a good track record in advising on a variety of litigation matters (whether civil or criminal or both).

Eligible candidates should have qualified as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive and also possess relevant experience dealing with variety of contentious litigation.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle their owncaseload of litigation matters to include, inter alia, contract, personal injury, public law disputes and prosecution work.

In due course, the role will also require the successful candidate to advise on information governance issues (including data protection & freedom of information) but it is not expected that the successful candidate will have gained previous experience in that area.
