Regulatory body are seeking a Head of Legal to join their busy team, up to £65,000

Your new company
An independent body responsible for regulating the private security industry within the United Kingdom. Their role includes the issuing licenses, under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 to individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry. They are also responsible for ensuring that only fit and proper people and organisations deliver regulated private security services. They are looking for a Head of Legal to join their busy legal team, managing up to 5 staff.

Your new role
As the Head of Legal, you will have operational responsibility for Legal Services, and line management responsibility for the Legal Team. You will be required to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders as well as providing advice in relation to all legal matters, either through the internal team or external providers, and that all deadlines are met. Finally you will represent the organisation at external meetings and events as required.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should be a qualified practising lawyer and be able to provide expert, credible advice at the most senior levels of the organisation. You should have experience of leading a team, with the ability to motivate and mentor as well as experience of managing litigation or litigation staff, ideally in relation to regulatory and/or criminal law matters. Finally, it is desirable to have knowledge of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 and experience of advising in relation to at least one of the following areas of law: employment law, contract law, or information law.
