Our client is a boutique law firm based in York city centre, which is focused on transactional commercial services for an interesting niche client base for which the firm operates nationally.

They are looking for a Corporate/Commercial lawyer cNQ-6yrs PQE to work in direct support of a Partner, and thus the role enjoys good profile within this business, and from a professional development perspective a lawyer can benefit from working closely with a sector expert. The work will involve interesting transactional work for both sales and purchases of businesses, shareholder agreements as well as associate agreements, terms and conditions and some general contract work.

Suitable candidates will range from relatively junior solicitors (including 2019 NQs) with a good level of self confidence and an appetitie to learn, to more proven corporate commercial solicitors looking to join a niche firm in York. Being part of a smaller outfit in York should provide a decent work life balance and different outlook for anyone coming from a larger city centre firm who might be looking for a change of pace. The firm offers an interesting specialist client focus which relies on strong referral relationships and so anyone interested needs to have decent interpersonal skills and high levels of client service, but this firm has work and so they're not needing a following. Part-time is definitely something this firm is open to, as they want to be flexible to get the right person.
