Senior Associate in Corporate Real Estate - Birmingham

Our Client’s deals and client coverage is unparalleled – external commentators often refer to them as one of the largest Real Estate practices and there are very few firms that have such a quality client base and varied portfolio of work.

The role:

Our Client’s Birmingham Corporate Real Estate team is the leader in the market and acts for a wide range of corporate occupiers including many of the largest FTSE 100 and 250 companies in the UK.  Their business has grown consistently and significantly over the last few years as they have attracted new clients and new team members, and therefore now need additional experienced lawyers to help build on this continuing success.

Our client works with major clients across a mix of sectors, including the following:

  • financial institutions sector - clients include HSBC, Barclays and Nationwide
  • consumer sector – clients include Lloyds Pharmacy, Central England Co-op and Domino’s Pizza
  • leisure sector – clients include Mitchells & Butlers and Gala Bingo  

They act on all property matters for these clients from their most strategic projects such as HQ relocations (e.g. HSBC’s new retail bank HQ at Arena Central), distribution centres, acquisition programmes, and data centres to the routine estate management transactions (licences, renewals, disposals etc.) – and everything in between.  

Key responsibilities:

  • the opportunity to take a lead role on major projects and accounts for the best clients. Client contact at the highest level is a given
  • the opportunity to help develop the junior talent coming through the team
  • a challenging and varied role

Skills and experience:

  • ideally you will be  5+years qualified with strong technical skills in landlord and tenant transactions, with an emphasis on acting for tenants
  • you will be experienced in managing and delivering asset management transactions and managing small investment estates
  • you will be experienced in managing and developing a team
  • you will be experienced in managing and developing client relationships
