Our client a local authority based in the West Midlands are seeking a Licensing/Prosecutions Lawyer for three months initially.  

This vacancy is being offered on a part time basis for  2/3 days a week and around 15-21 hours per week to start from the 13th May 2019.

You will be required to carry a full and varied prosecution’s caseload including the following issues:

  • Planning,
  • School attendance issues,
  • Fraud,
  • Food safety,
  • Licensing and
  • POCA.

Previous experience within a local authority setting covering licensing, prosecutions and provision of general legal advice is preferable. Candidates with private practice experience are however encouraged to apply.

The successful Prosecutions Lawyer will need to have the ability to conduct prosecutions, with some advocacy in the Magistrates Courts. You will also need to have the ability to provide general legal support across other contentious areas such as planning enforcement and general legal research if required.

Previous experience in licensing matters and attending licensing sub-committee hearings is essential.
