£39,609 - £50,132 pa dependant on achieving designated skills and experience
Grade: UH8
FTE: 1.0 fte working 37 hours per week

At the Hertfordshire Law School we pride ourselves on delivering a truly innovative learning and teaching experience coupled with practice-led, hands-on experience. Our students consistently provide excellent feedback about their educational experience which is also evidenced through the number of students graduating with good honours degrees and our strong employability rates.
Main duties and responsibilities
We are seeking multiple applicants who will lead and teach modules on the LLM Legal Practice (LPC) and LLB programmes. You will assist and support other Module Leaders on these programmes, whilst working co-operatively and supportively as part of the School's teaching team, including off-campus activities where required.
You will work closely with the Associate Deans and Programme Leaders in order to continue the development of the School's teaching and learning initiatives and ensure the currency of the curriculum. Additionally, you will make a positive contribution to the School's wide range of co-curricular activities, and trial advocacy and pro bono activities including Hertfordshire Law Clinic.
You will provide pastoral care and support to students as a Student Support Tutor, supervise and support students involved with Hertfordshire Law Clinic and support recruitment to the LLM Legal Practice Course by attending open days and giving talks to prospective students.
Skills and experience needed
You will demonstrate a pro-active approach towards working with students, as well as members of the University’s regional legal and/or business community and has a keen appreciation for the University’s business facing vision.
You will have teaching experience on the Legal Practice Course with particular experience of teaching at least two of the following areas:
- Business Law and Practice
- Solicitors Accounts and Business Accounts
- Property Law and Practice
- Wills and Probate
- Private Client
- Commercial Property
- Immigration Law
- Civil Litigation
- Commercial Law
- Employment Law
- Personal Injury
Qualifications
You will hold a Bachelors degree in a related subject discipline as well as a Masters or equivalent professional qualification.
