The post is based at our office in Bainbridge, Wensleydale.
Have you ever thought of working in a National Park? We can provide you with an interesting and rewarding next step in your career in an area that is recognized both nationally and internationally for its unrivalled landscape, rich built heritage, wildlife and opportunities for outdoor sport and recreation.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park protects the heritage of some of the finest landscapes and wildlife habitats in Europe, continuing the long and harmonious relationship between man and environment. More than 24,000 residents live and work in our 2,179 square kilometres, and we welcome more than eight million visitors every year who come to see the wonderful scenery and experience life in our historic towns and villages.
Ours is a living and working environment which requires sympathetic management. We now require a Solicitor & Monitoring Officer to assist us in this task. You will attend to complex and high profile legal matters including the conduct of cases, transactions and preparation of documents as well as providing legal representation in committees, working groups and in court.
You will need to be a practising Solicitor or Barrister with substantial post-qualifying experience including in local government and corporate management. Ideally you will have exercised Monitoring Officer responsibilities. Good practical understanding of local government law is essential and an understanding of the context in which national parks operate is desirable.
Closing date for applications: 12noon on Monday 20 May 2019
Anticipated interview date: week commencing 10 June 2019
