Your new role
You will work closely with allocated Fee Earners, assisting in certain aspects of patent/trademarks work frequently without guidance, you will also provide help in dealing with certain administrative tasks allowing the Fee Earner to utilise their time. Your main duties and responsibilities fall into several areas, Paralegal, PA, Billing, Portfolio Take-ons and Standard Reporting. In terms of the Paralegal duties you will be responsible for preparing documents ready for on-line filing of UK, EPO and PCT Forms, plus CTM applications via EUIPO and Madrid Protocol applications, updating prior art files, and prepares IDS and Section 8, preparing correspondence and legal documentation accurately and with minimal supervision. In terms of PA responsibilities, you will be carrying out background research and presents findings, in response to requests from clients and/or Fee Earners, ensuring the Fee Earners are well prepared for meetings, taking the initiative to ensure that work is completed in a Fee Earner's absence and demonstrating good diary management (i.e. arranging meetings, conference calls, etc.).


What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will need preferably over a years' experience working with patent/trademark law, previously working in a similar role would be looked favourably upon. You should have completed your law degree or appropriate conversion and have undertaken the LPC however sufficient patent/trademark experience is also desirable if applicants do not have law degrees. You will also need to be confident carrying out administrative duties.
