IN-HOUSE Legal Counsel: Commercial and Construction
Your new company
This international business, with a strong UK presence, has a proud history and a solid growth model putting the company in a great position for continued expansion. With a busy workload and an increasing need for robust legal and compliance advice across the group, a junior commercial lawyer, with experience in construction law contracts, is needed to join the in-house legal team.
Your new role
You will report directly into a Senior Legal Manager and will join an established in-house legal department. As legal counsel, you will provide commercial legal advice across the group and will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts with an initial focus on construction projects. You will work in a business facing role with the opportunity to broaden your commercial contracts experience in-house with an international business.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer with previous experience in commercial contracts and working knowledge of construction law. This could be an ideal move for a recently qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with some construction law experience, looking to make their first move in-house. Newly qualified solicitors with a minimum of 6 months training seat in construction will also be considered. You will need to work well under pressure and willing to take on wider commercial duties as part of the in-house legal team including managing in-house legal queries.
