General Counsel, Growing Insurance Organisation (3-4 days per week)
One of London's most exciting insurance organisations is in need of an experienced solicitor to join them and establish an in-house legal function. The position has fantastic potential for the successful candidate to bring their own sense of autonomy and identity to the role. With anticipated growth it is essential to have a strong General Counsel to lead on all legal matters as well as managing external counsel for specialist areas. Areas of expertise required will include general commercial law, corporate law (M&A, join ventures etc, financial services background - specifically in insurance, multi-jurisdictional experience - particularly EMEA region. A keen business sense is essential in General Counsel's alignment of the legal function to fit in around commercial objectives as well as reducing the spend on external counsel. Personality, as well, is important in this position as it will set a precedent for the foundation of the legal function; they are interested in people with a strong but charismatic approach, the ability to influence diplomatically will also be integral.
