A successful and growing fin-tech company in the heart of the City, that has gained excellent private equity investment in recent years. The company has been around for 15 years but has retained its "start-up" air of excitement and modern working environment, alongside a lean but hugely effective working headcount. The company is experiencing rapid growth and has internalised all its major teams. This exciting organisation largely supplies data-driven technology solutions to clients in the financial services sector, working with some of the most prestigious names in the market.

Your new role
The second legal role in the business, this is a newly created growth position for a Legal Counsel to report into the Head of Legal in London. Taking on good levels of responsibility, you will advise the business on a wide variety of commercial matters. This will include negotiating business critical contracts such as software-as-a-service, master service, vendor and partnering agreements, while also advising on intellectual property and data protection matters. Working in a fast-paced, international environment, you will support busy sales, marketing and account management teams as they drive the business forward, so you will need to build relationships across the organisation at different levels. As part of a small team, you will be enthusiastic and energised towards a broad role that will demand excellent technical and international ability.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with excellent academics and strong commercial experience, ideally in the technology or fin-tech sectors. You will have, as a rough guide, 2-4 years' PQE and some in-house exposure. You will have negotiated agreements relevant to a data-centric software and fin-tech company, and you will have the commercial acumen to navigate through the challenges of a fast-moving regulated environment. You will be bright, motivated and committed to learning and developing your career in-house, within a team that will afford you fantastic levels of responsibility. You will be able to demonstrate the robustness and agility required to effectively support sales teams and you will be a down-to-earth individual who will integrate socially within a collaborative environment.
