The opportunity

Due to continued growth they are looking for an experienced Senior Supervisor to drive their highly successful industrial disease team in their Leeds Office.  You will have the opportunity to deliver full and effective methods of supervision of case work relating to industrial cases, including Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS), Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), Work Related Upper Limb Disorders (WRULD), Work Related Stress and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).  You will also take responsibility for best practice in marketing, client care and ensuring case management standards are implemented and upheld throughout the team.  They encourage all of their lawyers to be strong advocates for the work they do and to actively engage in marketing and business development opportunities by cross selling services, e.g. with local/regional union officials and events. 

The role

As a Senior Supervisor you will work towards achieving the required operational and financial performance, driving the success of the team and Branch as a whole whilst you actively mentor, develop and supervise a team.  The ideal candidate would be an admitted solicitor or FILEX with significant post qualification experience, or equivalent experience of at least 8 years and operating as a Court Grade A.  You will possess strong supervisory skills with excellent client care and interpersonal skills, coupled with an enthusiasm to train and share experiences. 

Dealing with their union clients and colleagues, as well as at other marketing events requires the candidate to have good understanding of the relevant statutory and common law legal practice and procedures with the ability to be able to clearly communicate this knowledge to your audience.

A day in the life of a senior supervisor is never the same, however a typical day may include effective management and monitoring of cases and taking proactive steps to ensure all cases are conducted in line with their visions and values, in a manner which uploads their clients’ interests and the firm’s reputation.
