Central London
A leading public body are looking for a Senior Solicitor to provide legal counsel across the organisation. Their offices are located in Central London, with fantastic local amenities and good connections to public transport. The work this organisation does is crucial to the protection of individuals and organisations across the pension's space. They are looking for a qualified solicitor with 4+ yeas PQE. The senior solicitor will utilise their knowledge in Litigation & Dispute resolution, regulation & public law; in addition experience in pension law is highly advantageous to this post. If candidates who fulfil the other requirements of the role but don't have specific pensions experience are still very much encouraged to apply.
Typical daily duties require the Senior Legal Counsel to review and supervise legal advice on cases, assist with reviewing and drafting other correspondence for staff, advise around risk mitigation, provide support and advice on legal, jurisdictional, procedural and regulatory issues which may arise on matters under investigation. Policy making is a big facet of this position too, advising across a range of different matters and making proactive decisions and improvements will be a focal point. The role will need a solicitor comfortable with driving forward legislative changes, liaising with various stakeholders with regard to overlapping jurisdictions, assisting with data protection issues and also following through any legal consequences of determinations that are appealed.
As a senior solicitor in the department this will be in a leadership role and will need someone who is confident mentoring and developing junior lawyers and team members.
