Are you looking to join a long established and reputed law firm with a strong presence across Devon and the South West? 
 
Due to a steady increase in work, mainly down to having an excellent reputation, this firm based in Plymouth is growing and searching for an accomplished lawyer to join their Shipping & Marine department. 
 
To apply for this shipping & marine solicitor position, you do not need to have shipping or marine experience. A very keen interest/hobby in this area of law could be sufficient.
 
You will already be an accomplished solicitor or legal executive, likely having mainly litigation experience but also non-contentious experience too! 
 
In this role, you will advise clients within the shipping and marine space. These clients will range from international & UK insurers, ship owners/operators, yacht club owners/managers, ports and harbours, yacht owners and all other associated marine clients. 
 
Your caseload will be broad and include advising on defence claims, marine insurance disputes, surveyors’ negligence and salvage claims.

Much of this will be international law. You will also advise on non-contentious matters to include ship and yacht sale, purchase and registration, marine finance and mortgages, shipbuilding and crew issues.
 
This is a very interesting role. You will be an experienced shipping & marine solicitor looking to expand on your skillset further.
