Senior Pensions Solicitor, Prominent Investigations Body
Senior Pensions Solicitor, Public Sector Investigations Body
An independent organisation set up by law to investigate and help regulate the pensions industry is looking for a new senior solicitor with a keen mind for financial regulation, public law, litigation/disputes and of course, pensions law. In return for their contributions the Senior Pensions Lawyer will be entitled to a generous salary and civil service pension. Benefits include a very progressive attitude toward work-life balance with flexy working, opportunities to work from home, 25 days holiday as standard and 2.5 extra "privilege days" off per year.
The work being conducted here is very important in safeguarding the public's pensions and ensuring that organisations operating in the pension's space are compliant with all legal regulations. To ensure these aims are upheld, duties will be centred around leading on and progressing policy matters, ensuring business critical cases are concluded appropriately, supervising the handling of litigation work, and developing stakeholder relationships.
While the team is managed on the whole by the Legal Director, senior lawyers do hold responsibility for a large chunk of management duties. As such skills in mentorship, guidance, and people management are essential; in addition this position has direct decision making authority regarding strategic objectives and performance related objectives within the team.
The ideal candidate qualified as a solicitor or barrister with extensive relevant post qualification experience of at least seven years in at least one of the following areas: litigation, disputes resolution, regulatory law (preferably financial services regulation) or public law; if pensions, candidates with fewer years' experience will be considered. There are two positions available, a complementary pairing of solicitors will influence the hiring decision, with this in mind please do apply even if you feel your skillset is more suited to certain aspects of the role.
Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
