Principal Solicitor Property & Planning (37 hours per week)
Salary Scale: PO 34 – 37 i.e £36,876 - £39,782 per annum (Subject to Job Evaluation)
You will undertake legal work relating primarily to Planning and Property including dealing with complex planning agreements and property transactions. You will support the Council’s Planning Committee as well as working within the Council’s legal team to support our wider business objectives.
As part of a small team, you will need to be hard working and adaptable with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, client officers and Council members.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister with at least three years post qualification experience, preferably in local government.
- Experience of supporting Planning and Property departments and their related functions.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to establish positive relationships with officers of the Council, Councillors and external agencies.
- A full current Driving Licence.
