Job Title: Legal and Information Governance Adviser (part time)
Department: University Secretary
Salary: Grade 8, £30,395 to £33,199 pro rata 22.2 hours per week
(The point of entry will be dependent upon relevant qualifications and experience)

Harper Adams University is the premier UK Higher Education institution focused on the land-based and food supply-chain sectors and has an increasingly important national role in teaching a wide range of rural subjects.
This is a busy and varied role which offers the opportunity for a legally qualified candidate to play an important part in supporting the work of the University Solicitor who has overall responsibility for advising and supporting the University on legal matters including (but not limited to) land and property matters, student matters, Data Protection/GDPR and Freedom of Information, and employment matters. Duties will include review and drafting of legal contracts and agreements to support the University's research and consultancy work; advising on data protection and freedom of information matters in conjunction with the Data Protection Officer; and working with a wide range of internal colleagues as well as representing the University’s interests through pro-active engagement with external stakeholders.
Attention to detail, recent experience of working in a busy legal environment, working flexibly as part of the University Secretary's wider team together with excellent IT and communication skills are important aspects of this role. Applicants should be able to demonstrate successful engagement with legal matters working in private practice or in a public or private sector organisation.
