Would you like to undertake varied, high quality work with like minded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and making a difference in local communities?

We are recruiting Adults, Education & Employment Lawyer/Senior Lawyer positions at HB Public Law. HBPL is a leading public sector legal practice providing legal services to a number of Local Authorities, schools and other public bodies, in North West London and the Home Counties.  We are a Lexcel and IIP Gold accredited practice.

The role provides excellent career progression in a supportive and collaborative environment.  Applications are welcomed from NQ lawyers to experienced contracts lawyers.  Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply for this position.  Full and part time/job share applications are considered.

About the position

The successful candidate will be required to carry a full caseload dealing with matters including, but not limited to:

•           Adult social care proceedings and advice

•           Advice, representation and training in respect of general education matters to             local authority and school clients to include admissions and exclusions

•           Management of SEND tribunal cases, including advocacy at tribunal

•           Judicial reviews and public law duties

You will be required to pick up a caseload from the outset and whilst experience in all areas is not expected, successful candidates must have experience in education.

We will consider less experienced individuals with the right personal qualities and an excellent approach to client care who are able to grow into the role. Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply for this position, as the practice’s current staff base is drawn from both sectors.

The role will be based primarily in our Harrow office, which offers excellent transport links. The post holder will serve multiple local authority clients and there will be some travel required to clients’ offices, including occasional evening committee attendance, and to court.

Full details can be found in the role profile.

About You

The successful candidate will not only have previous relevant experience but will also be a team player who takes pride in delivering a high quality service and is able to work under pressure. It is important that candidates are committed to the relevant area of law and have a genuine enthusiasm for their work.

Applications

The closing date for your application is Monday 17th June 2019.  Applications should be made via the Harrow Council website https://jobs.harrow.gov.uk/search.aspx?l=HarrowCouncil and completing the application form or by submitting a covering letter and CV to recruitment@harrowcouncil.info
