Permanent Lawyer & Deputy Monitoring Officer – East of England

Venn Group's specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a permanent Lawyer & Deputy Monitoring Officer to work for an In-House Public Sector Legal team in the East of England, offering an attractive salary of between £57,693 to £70,513 + 10% special responsibility allowances.

The organisation deals with major developments and improvements in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills across the region.

The organisation is now establishing its permanent legal service and is looking for a Lawyer who will also deputise for the Monitoring Officer when required.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out various responsibilities including:

• Advising the organisation in various day to day legal issues in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills including providing advice on and drafting contracts
• Assist with the delivery and maintenance of the Governance Framework of the organisation
• Advise colleagues, elected members, private sector Business Board members and key stakeholders on sensitive and highly complex legal matters
• Deputising for the Monitoring Officer when required including representing the organisation in meetings of the board in the absence of the Monitoring Officer

It is essential that candidates have a level of commercial understanding due to the nature of the organisations objectives and the projects the legal team will be supporting.

A highly attractive salary of between £57,693 to £70,513 + 10% special responsibility allowances, dependant upon experience is offered.
