Permanent Legal Services Manager
Permanent opportunity for a Legal Services Manager position to work in a local authority based in Sussex
An opportunity has arisen in a local authority for a Legal Services Manager (Business Unit Lead) in a friendly and supportive legal department.
The role of the Legal Team Leader is to manage a team of 2 Legal Assistants and 5 Solicitors; the solicitors on the team cover Planning, Property, Litigation and Licensing. You must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with experience of managing a team and you will report in to the Head of Regulatory Services (Head of Legal).
Your time will be split doing the management side of the role with the other half spent executing your own legal work with specific reference to complex Planning and Property matters. Should you have experience in either Planning or Property this will suffice as the client is happy to move the work to suit the appropriate candidate.
The local authority have exciting plans for a huge development project, where they are delivering a vast amount of new homes, schools and leisure centres including acquiring and disposing of land. This in addition to the large number of homes the council buy every year for development purposes.

It will be a really good opportunity for someone who is undertaking a senior role within a Public Sector organisation looking for their next step up in their career, or for someone who is carrying out a similar role. Applicants from a Private Practice background will be considered.

The salary is expected to pay up to £58,000, but this would be dependent on experience and your working hours will be 37 hours a week.
