Job Title: Legal Counsel - Construction
Location: Manchester
Salary: up to £70k (Negotiable DOE)
Douglas Scott are working with a construction business, in order to hire an in-house counsel to join the legal team. The business are specifically looking for a Construction Lawyer in order to handle a wide range of their transactional and contentious construction matters, and attempting to try and bring the majority of their legal work in-house.
The business have a substantial portfolio with a strong pipeline of work currently in play. They work across commercial and residential developments nationally and have been steadily growing as a business year on year.
Both contentious and/or non-contentious (or a mix of both) solicitors will be considered. You'll be joining an existing legal function but will get the opportunity to lead on various construction matters and apply your own stamp on the legal functions processes going forward. Day to day legal matters that come through the team are as follows:
Transactional
- Drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating across a full range of construction contracts
- Appointments
- Collateral Warranties
- Indemnities
- Sub-contracts
- Tenders
- Strategic projects/process improvement initiatives
Contentious
- Dispute Avoidance/Resolution
- Mediations
- Arbitrations
- Adjudications
