An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Solicitor to join one of Yorkshires top regional firms.

This is an interesting role and there is flexibility with the precise level and location that they recruit at and for. This could be a lateral partner recruit, someone wanting to step up to partner level or someone wanting a clear run at this in the not too distant future but looking for a firm where there is clear scope for that development. It could be based in either Leeds or Bradford, but whichever there would be the opportunity to work as part of the bigger team across the region.

The team that you will be joining are extremely friendly and welcoming, so you'll have no problem fitting in. Our client have modern offices located centrally in both cities making them easily accessible. They have a very good position in the market and have a clear management structure at each of their offices with defined leadership and development opportunities, the hope being that the person recruited into this role could ultimately become the head of department.
The work is on behalf of both business clients and individuals and pride themselves on their high quality client delivery, something that is very important to them.

The role
l They are looking for someone to take on a broad caseload of Private Client matters including wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, court of protection and inheritance tax. They also undertake Charities work so there would be the opportunity to undertake some of that work if you were interested
l The work is largely for high net worth clients - both business and private
l Working alongside the firm's Head of Personal Law
l They are an ambitious firm who are wanting to enhance and develop the department and it's work so there is plenty of scope to contribute to this and to really make a difference
l Ultimately this role could develop into being the head of department.

The candidate
l The firm are ideally looking for someone who has upwards of at least 5 years PQE, however it could be that someone is already at Partner level
l Their ideal would be someone who is STEP qualified but they are happy to fully support someone in undertaking this if they haven't done as yet
l To fit within the team they are looking for someone who has clear and effective communication skills, both internally and externally, and who wants to genuinely work within a team environment as this would fit with the atmosphere and spirit within both the team and the firm
l They would also like someone who is willing to participate in business development activities, although there is full support in this
