Our client is a leading utilities company in the South East. They are looking for an experienced (4PQE+) commercial solicitor to join their in-house legal team located just on the outskirts of London in their Kent based offices. The role has come about as a result of company growth and an increase in the workoad of the legal team, as such there is room for the position to be shaped aorund the candidate that joins.

Expert legal counsel will be required to support various business functions and projects. A solid grounding and experience in IT contracts, Procurement Law for Utilities is highly sought after for this position. Further experience in the following will be advantageous: Data Protection, Environmental law, Construction Law (in particular NEC3 and NEC4 contracts). Examples of typical duties will be to draft, review and advise on commercial contracts across a variety of business areas and document types; to advise on broader commercial matters facing the business, management of commercial litigation and disputes resolution, complaints & claims response; training of various departments across regulatory/compliance matters as required.
