Locum Governance Officer

Venn Group is currently working with an established Local Authority based in the East Midlands to recruit for a Locum Governance Officer for a full time contract due to commence in July for an initial period of 3 months. The ideal candidate will possess previous Local Authority experience within in a similar role.

Duties may include:

• Providing professional procedural advice to members, officers and the public on the law and practice of governance processes such as delegated decisions, interests and the Forward Plan/Key decisions lists and ethical standards
• Handling administration such as arranging and attending meetings and preparing appeals, briefings and minutes
• Implementing and maintaining the electronic Committee management system
• Understanding the organizational culture and politics across and beyond the Local Authority

The client are able to offer an hourly of rate of £15-£22 per hour (umbrella) dependent on experience and up to 1 days of homeworking may be offered for the right candidate after an initial period.
