Job Details

This legal 500 firm based Manchester City Centre is looking for an experienced Catastrophic injury solicitor to work alongside the head of department. Effectively you will be the deputy head of department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants the next step in their career. You will be the departments deputy manager and will replace the existing head of department in the near future. Your salary will increase and be reflective of the increased responsibilities.

You will be a important member of the senior management team and will supervise a small team whilst managing a caseload of catastrophic injury files (most, if not all will have a value in excess of £500,000). Due to the value of the claims, you will have a real impact on the clients life and will be able to make their struggle that little bit more manageable.

The salary on offer is £62,000.

Your responsibilities

- Performing fee earning tasks in a commercially effective manner to meet agreed targets.

- Maintaining the case file on the case management system accurately and clearly such that anyone picking up the file is able to understand the present position and be able to take responsibility for it if required.

-Maintaining high standards of client care and ensure feedback is reported for Lexcel, Legal 500, Website or Ekomi purposes.

- Inspiring junior colleagues in the way you manage your work and in your behaviour in the office, with your colleagues, clients and third parties.

- Carrying out tasks outside of the day to day fee earning to support the team or the wider firm such as providing training, generating repeat instructions from clients, and drafting content for LinkedIn and the website.

About you

You must be ambitious and want to take over a successful team. You will be motivated to learn as much as possible from the existing HOD and enjoy getting justice for the claimant.
