Principal Solicitor (Litigation)
Central Oxford
Salary: £57,473 up to £60,460 grade 17
We have a Principal Solicitor (Litigation) position available for highly motivated individual in our dynamic office.
This Principal Solicitor will manage the Litigation Team, and undertake a range of high-level legal work, but in particular in relation to the following key areas:
- Education - education of children; Special Educational Needs including advocacy in the First-Tier SEND tribunal; disability discrimination; admissions; exclusions; and general advice to Schools on litigious issues.
- Employment law - general advice on all aspects of employment matters, drafting settlement agreements and defending Employment Tribunal claims including drafting statements of case and advocacy at case management and pre-hearing reviews.
- Public Law litigation – judicial review including challenges against age assessments.
- Corporate governance - including policies and procedures, ethical standards, lawful decision-making, data protection.
- Community care - including: community care assessments; care planning; asylum and immigration issues; charging; ordinary residence disputes; and public law challenges to community care decisions
