Our client, a busy Local Authority based in North East London is seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join their team for an initial three month assignment with strong possibility of extension.

The successful Planning Lawyer on the team will be required to carry a full and varied caseload from the outset. Your caseload will include: S106 agreements, S278 agreements, drafting of planning agreements and undertakings, public rights of way issues, public inquiries, appeals and judicial reviews. You will also be expected to cover Planning Committees and act as the legal adviser at Licensing Committees.

Our client is looking for a capable locum to the join their team on short notice. You will be required to work autonomously and without the need for supervision. Public sector experience is advantageous although not essential. Candidates from alternative backgrounds are encouraged to apply. This role has arisen due to a peak in workload and therefore you must be able to hit the ground running.
