Your new company
Due to an internal service redesign, we are now looking to recruit a Housing Litigation Legal Assistant to work with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council on a temporary, on-going basis. Sandwell Council is the largest employer in the borough that help provide a comprehensive range of services across its six towns. They are committed to the provision of high quality services across the borough
Your new role
As a Legal Assistant, you will be working in the Housing Litigation Team based in Oldbury. You will be responding to housing claims that are raised under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act regarding disrepair cases. You will be working on existing claims and responding to tenants and their legal representation. In addition, you will be required to help settle draft responses and update all communications.
What you'll need to succeed
As an experienced Legal Assistant, you will be educated to a degree level and have a current LPC, equivalent or working towards one. You will have experience of working previously in a legal position and have experience of providing support to a wider legal team. Knowledge of Housing Litigation would not be essential, but would be highly beneficial.
