Job Details
Pensions/Commercial Solicitor:
A full time permanent role to involve advising internal clients and liaising with other third parties in the giving of commercial advice and the drafting of commercial documents. Lawyers within this team also advise on the application of the Authority's constitution and any relevant procurement legislation. The role will be primarily focused on advising the Authority's Pension Fund on a range of contract and commercial matters, including discharge of functions and liability agreements relating to the pension administration and investment functions carried out by Local Pensions Partnership Ltd, along with associated transactional work. The role will also involve a broad range of work from Care Services to Construction, with advice relating to state aid, grant funding and a variety of commercial matters. Ideally, candidates will have a demonstrable commercial background and credit will be given for the breadth and depth of experience that a candidate can demonstrate. We are looking for a candidate with experience of local authority work who can therefore appreciate the requirements of adhering to our constitution and the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. These are desirable attributes and we will consider lawyers with commercial experience from any setting and also newly qualified solicitors that can demonstrate a strong work ethic and professional attitude.
