Legal Assistant Team Leader/Senior Lawyer (MG2)

Salary from £54,912 to £61,137 plus a New Starter Allowance of up to £10,000*

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Team Leader to assist in leading our Planning & Regeneration Team. 

We are recruiting Planning and Regeneration Assistant Team Leader Lawyers at HB Public Law.  HBPL is a leading public sector legal practice providing legal services to a number of Local Authorities, schools and other public bodies, in North West London and the Home Counties.  We are a Lexcel and IIP Gold accredited practice.

The role provides excellent career progression in a supportive and collaborative environment.  Applications are welcomed from NQ lawyers to experienced property lawyers.  Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply for this position.  Full and part time/job share applications are considered.

About the position

The successful candidate will be expected to assist with leadership and management of the team, supporting the clients and developing team members.  The Assistant Team Leader’s duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

Receiving and allocating instructions

Active supervision of staff to include appraisals, one to one’s and general mentoring

Personally conducting complex and high profile cases

Advising senior officers and elected members in a proactive and politically sensitive manner;

Acting as a senior liaison point for the practice’s clients; and

Supporting the strategic development of HB Public Law jointly with the Team Leaders and Principal Lawyers.

The role will be based in our Harrow office, but there will be travel required to other clients’ offices, including some evening committee meeting attendance. 

About you

The successful candidate will not only have extensive previous planning and highways legal experience but will also be passionate about teamwork and developing others.  A high level of client contact will be involved in this role and therefore it is essential that you exhibit good client care skills and can build strong working relationships with others.
