Your new company
A leading UK insurance company focused on delivering insurance services in core categories including home, motor and commercial. The company employs over 10,000 in the UK and has been recognised regularly as an exceptional company in industry awards. The offices in Croydon are open plan, facilitating a collaborative working environment in a truly integrated way.

Your new role
A critical role on a FTC basis for 12-18 months within the company's Motor Litigation and Personal Injury department. This position replaces the outgoing employee who has moved to lead a team elsewhere. This position will report into the head of Legal Operations, and will manage two other legal professionals with PI and Motor Litigation expertise. While you will involved in high quality multi-track and fast-track litigation matters, you will also have operational responsibilities as the manager of the team. This will entail accountability for maintaining a high performance culture, ensuring compliance with processes, engage directly with client satisfaction matters and taking responsibility for the training, development and progression of the team. You will build strong relationships across the business and be commercially minded enough to perform both a legal and managerial role. You will from time to time be required to travel within the UK, and the company offers flexible and agile working options as a result to maintain an excellent work-life balance.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer with demonstrable exposure to motor litigation and personal injury litigation matters. You will be qualified either in the UK or another major common law jurisdiction, but will have unrestricted eligibility to work in the UK. As a guide, you will have 5+ years' PQE but candidates with greater experience will also be readily considered. You may come either from practice or an in-house background and you will either have some people management experience or the credible desire to take on management responsibility and the operational considerations that accompany such a role. You will be recognised as a subject matter expert within the organisation, so you must have both the technical and interpersonal ability to communicate with the business.

What you'll get in return
You will gain excellent management responsibility in a role that allows for both high quality legal work and career progression. You will be associated with one of the best motor litigation and PI departments in the country, and you will be presented with tangible career progression pathways that ultimately have resulted in excellent retention rates. You will also be rewarded with a fantastic work-life balance and package, which includes a generous pension scheme, above average performance bonus, generous holiday entitlement and other great benefits.
