PART-TIME Legal Counsel
Your new company
You will join an established clothing business, who prides itself on its professional service to fashion retailers. This new appointment for an in-house solicitor could be an excellent opportunity for you, as an adaptable lawyer, to apply your commercial legal skills in a broad legal counsel role.
Your new role
You will report directly into the Managing Director and as a senior solicitor, you will be responsible for setting up the in-house legal function in a first appointment role. You will provide legal advice across the UK group companies on a range of legal matters. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts as well as managing the relationship with external lawyers.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have excellent communication and relationship building skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and challenge where necessary. You will either be a seasoned in-house lawyer, ideally with experience in working in a start-up environment or owner managed business, or a commercial solicitor in private practice, ready to take on a broad role in-house. You must be comfortable drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts as well as dealing with other in-house legal queries including employment law and property matters. Experience in IP law, including brand protection and trade mark work would be a bonus although not essential as there is external support in these areas.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to be an integral part of a growing business, in a friendly and supportive environment where you will work closely with the managing director and senior management team. You will join a positive working atmosphere offering flexibility and part-time working hours between 2.5 and 4 days a week.
