Your new company
A industry leading, global advertising and marketing organisation, with over 5,000 people globally. Under its previous ownership, the group was listed on the NYSE, this organisation. The newly independent company has an immensely strong global leadership team and it has won numerous awards within the advertising industry. Clients exist in every conceivable market, meaning the reach of the organisation as a business connector is fantastic. The legal team consists of around 30 lawyers globally with six in the magnificent Central London offices reporting into the General Counsel.

Your new role
A sought after junior legal counsel role reporting directly to the General Counsel in London. This is a commercial generalist role replacing a long-serving lawyer who is moving on to lead a team elsewhere, showcasing the career progression possible after being associated with such an organisation. You will draft, negotiate and review varied commercial agreements, including technology, sales, procurement and data processing agreements. Alongside this, you will advise on intellectual property portfolio matters, GDPR and data protection matters, disputes advise and general matters while integrating yourself across the business. You will have regular interaction with US legal team in relation to the group compliance programme, and you will gain management experience by supervising a paralegal, who will be working on company secretarial matters. This is an ideal role for a private practice lawyer looking to learn and develop their career with a first in-house move.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK or major Commonwealth jurisdiction qualified lawyer, trained with a reputable practice firm. You will have gained strong academics (2:1 at university), and you will have, as a guide, 1-3 years' PQE. Sustained exposure to technology agreements would be expected, though you need not have industry specific experience. You will be a commercially orientated individual with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and be pro-active in the way you build your profile within the business. You will ambitious and self-sufficient, with the ability to not only cultivate relations but also push back diplomatically to the business and strong characters when necessary. You will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the organisation in an interview.

What you'll get in return
This is a great chance to be mentored by a hugely respected General Counsel, in what could be your first in-house role. You will work with a great team of individuals with a good length of service with the company. You will be joining at a really exciting time in the company' evolution, meaning you will work on a broad range of top quality commercial work with a sense of autonomy and ownership. You will also benefit from an excellent work-life balance (usually you would work from 9-5:30), and be rewarded with an exceptional benefits package.
