Job Details

Law Graduate/Paralegal - A new opportunity has arisen for a Law Graduate/Paralegal to join a leading law firm in their Hampshire office. The Law Graduate/Paralegal will hold a law degree and an interest working in property law.

The property team deals with various residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, re-sales, lease extensions, deeds of variation, transfers of equity and re-mortgages. This Law Graduate/Paralegal role will be working as part of the busy and supportive Asset Management Team within the Housing and Regeneration department, alongside other Case Handlers, a Team Leader, Solicitor and Partner.

Main duties and responsibilities
• File administration including opening and closing matters and arranging deeds scheduling
• Preparing engrossments
• Preparing invoices and completion statements
• Assisting with completion, including the transfer of completion funds and post-completion
• Preparing Land Registry forms and certificates
• Dealing with management packs on behalf of clients for resales
• Drafting emails and letters to clients and solicitors
• Dealing with phone calls from clients and solicitors
• Providing general support and assistance to the Team with workloads

Other duties and responsibilities
• To assist the Plot Sales Team with issuing and any other help as is required
• To update client reports
• To build up a caseload of approximately 80 residential property transactions and handle the running of files from instruction to post-completion

Candidates should ideally have:
• current or recent experience in a similar area of law for example: conveyancing/real estate/commercial property/social housing (this is an advantage but not essential)
• good communication  skills
• experience of working in an office environment
• excellent organisational skills
• attention to detail
• good IT skills
• be educated to degree standard
