Litigation Solicitor

A fantastic role has arisen for a technical litigation solicitor who will ideally be from a financial services background with some insolvency, debt litigation and secured recoveries experience. This Leeds based role is with the UK’s largest independent law firm, solely focused on the recovery of debt for UK lenders, debt purchasers, central Government and commercial businesses.

The role will consist of running your own caseload of non-standard litigation cases. You will be expected to have effective and professional handling of client instructions. 
 
As the market consolidates, this firm finds itself as the only independent, specialist law firm that can handle significant volumes of both regulated and non-regulated collections and litigation instructions. This puts them in a unique position, offering 100% focus and commitment to the credit sector for the long term. 
 
The litigation solicitor role will entail the following: issuing pre-action letters and commencing proceedings for possession of properties subject to LPA Receivership; advising Receivers and/or lenders on complex/technical issues which may arise from the litigation and ensure possession is secured via a County Court warrant or High Court writ; assisting with commercial and property litigation matters on behalf of administrators and liquidators including making section 234 and 236 (Insolvency Act 1986) applications to court; issuing and serving statutory demands, winding up petitions and bankruptcy petitions; assisting with defending proprietary claims against administrators and liquidators; registering administrator and liquidator appointments at the Land Registry; and researching and advising on various areas of insolvency law; and preparing bundles and instructing Counsel.
 
You will be either a qualified solicitor or legal executive with up to circa 3 years’ experience, although all levels will be considered. In addition to the above, there is also the requirement to assist with the volume based debt recovery litigation for various lenders, banks and mortgage companies.
