Employment Solicitor - High Quality Respondent Work

A very well regarded award-winning Legal 500 listed practice is eager to consolidate its Employment Team offering at its Halesowen office with the appointment of an Employment Solicitor to deal with a high calibre caseload of employment matters.

This firm has a very strong pedigree and has a network of offices throughout the West Midlands and the Black Country. It is a full service offering and is currently well on track with its expansion drive having already successfully expanded other offices in the network with the hire of very experienced practitioners across a number of disciplines. The firm has a very strong reputation within the locality and is able to boast a very good client base comprising individuals, those within agriculture, local businesses, SMEs and national commercial entities.

The Employment Team is already established across the firms' network of offices; however, the team in Halesowen has experienced significant success and so now needs to make an additional hire to strengthen the team there in order to service ongoing instructions and also further increase this particular offices' market share.

The firm is now looking to appoint an additional Employment Solicitor with anything from NQ level up to around 4 years' PQE to work alongside the three very experienced lawyers already in place. IF an NQ you will have undertaken a seat within in employment on your training contract and will ideally have gained pre-qualification experience within the sector, and you will have been exposed to good quality instructions having already worked at a national or very strong regional practice. The majority of the work will comprise working for respondents on both contentious and non-contentious matters and you will deal with Tribunal claims, whistleblowing, TUPE and changes in legislation. Whilst respondent experience is preferred, the firm is open to those from a claimant background as long as they can demonstrate experience of undertaking corporate support and providing generalist non-contentious HR advice.

This is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious Employment Solicitor who has a real desire to work at a very strong firm and who is keen to make their mark in the sector so if you are keen on securing a role with a host of progression and development opportunities in your current role then this opportunity is definitely worth exploring.

A competitive salary and benefits package are on offer which includes 23 days' holiday entitlement as well as extra holidays over the Christmas period when the office closes. The firm also prides itself on its non-corporate environment and actively promotes a positive work/life balance and the working culture is such that the conveyancing process is very much focused on providing a high-quality client centric service meaning that this role is a world away from a high-volume operation and will allow you to spend a considerable amount of time having face-to-face client meetings as well has having input on shaping the client base.
