An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor within a leading UK, top 100 defendant law firm based in Bristol to join their Clinical Risk department.The dedicated team handle clinical risk claims across all areas including cerebral palsy/obstetric claims, oncology, neurosurgery, paediatrics and plastic surgery.

The successful Clinical Risk Solicitor will handle a challenging caseload of high value defendant clinical negligence this will include drafting pleadings, witness statements and letters of response, Trusts and other health bodies, conducting face to face negotiations and mediation of claims as well as preparing counter schedules of damages in high value claims.

The ideal candidate would be a Solicitor (2-4 PQE) with considerable experience of handling complex clinical negligence claims, including those involving birth and other catastrophic injuries. The firm will however consider candidates from a variety of other backgrounds who have transferable skills and a real interest in developing their knowledge and experience within clinical negligence. Candidates from a professional indemnity/negligence background or wider commercial litigation sphere would possess the suitable transferable skills to move into more complex medical negligence work. Likewise, candidates with experience of high-value, defendant catastrophic injury are also encouraged to apply.
