Employment Solicitor - Claimant & Respondent Work

A very strong Legal 500 listed regional practice continues with its expansion and now wishes to appoint an additional Employment Solicitor to its well-regarded Employment Team.

This full-service commercial practice has been established for nearly 50 years and is based in South Staffordshire meaning that it is within easy commuting distance from Birmingham, Coventry, Lichfield and Burton upon Trent.

The Employment Team here comprises three senior members of the firm in addition to an experienced solicitor and deals with all aspects of employment law, acting for a host of longstanding clients on both a regional and national basis. Because of this growing client base, the firm is looking to recruit an additional Employment Solicitor from NQ level up to around 5 years' PQE in order to service existing clients and consolidate the employment teams position in the market. If an NQ, you will have undertaken a seat in employment and, ideally, have gained pre-qualification employment law experience.

This is a very varied role as you will be exposed to the full remit of employment matters, dealing with a mixed caseload of both claimant and respondent contentious work. In addition, you will also undertake corporate support and you will also form part of a dedicated team which provides ongoing advice and support to clients from both a proactive and reactive perspective.

What makes this role different is the significant amount of face to face client contact you will have, particularly compared to a number of national firms where client contact is limited until a senior position is reached. You will have regular off-site client meetings whilst also be afforded the chance to undertake a host of business development activities which will enable you to form your own client base and really expedite career progression.

The firm is offering a very competitive salary and benefits package, on-site parking and, if you are at the upper PQE limit for the role, you will be afforded a lot of autonomy, so this is the perfect opportunity for someone who wishes to specialise in the employment law sector and have a very varied role in a working environment that is very different to those on offer in Birmingham city centre.

Company

QED
An acronym of the latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum which translates as "thus it is demonstrated" or "that which was to be demonstrated". It is most often used as an annotation at the end of a complex mathematical, scientific or philosophical argument to show that the author had proven what he had set out to prove. In recent times it has also been translated as "Quite Easily Done".

As a recruiter you have to network and speak to large amounts of people and lots of law firms to really understand the market and have the connections to match people with opportunity quickly when the time arises. A good recruiter needs to be Quick, Excellent and Dynamic in everything that they do. Allow the team at QED to demonstrate what they can do for your firm or your career.
