Your new role
|A newly created Legal Counsel position reporting in to the General Counsel for UK&I, as part of a team with two other lawyers. This is a commercial generalist role encompassing negotiating and reviewing key commercial agreements with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders, while also advising the business on intellectual property, data protection and procurement matters, among others. You will build relationships with stakeholder teams including IT, risk, procurement, finance and operations, showcasing yourself as a reliable business advisor. Additionally, you will assist in corporate governance matters, while taking a pro-active approach to add value across the business. You will be mentored by an experienced team leader, who will ensure that you learn as much as possible during your time with the company.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK or Common Law qualified junior lawyer with training from a reputable City, national or regional firm, or indeed structured in-house legal function. You will be either newly qualified or have a couple of years' post-qualified experience (more senior lawyers will also be considered). You will have exposure to drafting, negotiating and reviewing varied commercial agreements, while having the confidence to advise on other generalist in-house matters. You will have a keen business mind and you will have the hunger and humility to learn as much as possible.
