Group HQ, Camberley, Surrey
Rentokil Initial plc is a FTSE 100 listed company and global leader in the provision of route-based services which protect people and enhance lives. No.1 in the majority of its markets, the Group is highly international (90% of revenue from outside the UK) and acquisitive (47 businesses acquired in 2018 and over 180 since 2014). It is busily expanding into new territories, especially in emerging and rapidly developing markets, and is growing successfully, reflected in a rapid rise in its market capitalisation, more than tripling in the last five years to its current level of £7.5bn.
Our global brands are Rentokil, Initial and Ambius. Our core services are Pest Control and Hygiene, as well as businesses in plants and office landscaping (Ambius), Property Care and Workwear. These are delivered by over 39,000 colleagues in over 75 countries, organised into five strong regional businesses: North America, Europe, UK & Rest of World, Asia and Pacific. We lead our sectors in product and technological innovation, and balance our global presence with a local focus on route-based efficiency, delivering high quality professional training and outstanding service quality.
As a result of this international expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen at Group Head Office in Camberley for a junior to mid-level corporate lawyer to join the highly-regarded central legal and company secretarial team. This is a new M&A-focused role, which will report to the Deputy General Counsel. It will primarily involve support for international M&A activity, from smaller bolt-on acquisitions to new country entries and major transactions, as well as providing support for other critical areas such as contracting, litigation and compliance initiatives. The successful candidate is likely to manage their own portfolio of transactions, helping drive the growth of the business, and delivery of this key strategic priority for Rentokil Initial.
As well as the Deputy General Counsel and other members of the legal team in the UK and internationally, you will work closely alongside the central M&A team, in-country/region management and external counsel and advisers as necessary, acting as principal legal adviser on all but the most significant deals. You will form part of an 11 strong legal and company secretarial team in Camberley, and a wider global legal function of around 30 professionals, including colleagues based in the US, France, Germany, Italy, India and Australia.
To succeed in this role, you must have trained with a reputable law firm and/or in-house corporate team and possess strong interpersonal skills and a pragmatic approach. A proven ability to advise on and manage legal support for M&A transactions, preferably at an international level, both as part of a team and independently, will also be key.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of an expanding, truly global organisation, where you will play a central role in helping to accelerate the growth of the business, and positioning the Group for further success.
In return, we are offering the successful candidate a competitive salary and attractive benefits package as well as the chance to develop a long term career with a company which is not only enjoying exceptional growth but is also committed to diversity and sympathetic to flexible working arrangements.
