Your new company
With a solid history and a growing record of success, this organisation is a major player in the energy and utility sector. Due to a busy workload following a recent acquisition and further growth, a vacancy has arisen in the Manchester office for an in-house lawyer to lead on data protection and GDPR matters. There is also an option to based in Lancashire, outside of the city centre, should that be preference.

Your new role
You will join a high calibre legal department and will work autonomously in a newly created role to review data protection compliance across the business and introduce best practices in line with GDPR. You must be able to provide expert advice in areas of responsibility by being fully conversant with all relevant legislation. Ideally you will have had previous experience in leading and implementing GDPR projects.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a proven track record in providing strategic, high quality, timely and risk based advice on data protection matters and you will be able to manage in-house legal queries as well as lead on GDPR projects. This could be an ideal opportunity for a high quality lawyer looking to move in-house in a GDPR focused role or an in-house lawyer with solid data protection experience, looking to take on the responsibility of DPO. You will have trained with a top tier firm and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.
